2007 New Mexico Pride Pageant, "Creating Traditions"

(March 11, 2007) Where in Albuquerque can you go to see awesome entertainment, see remarkable youth enlighten the audience, feel a sense of Pride and experience so much more? The event is Albuquerque Pride’s 11th annual NM Pride Pageant entitled “Creating Traditions” which will be held in the beautiful Marriot Pyramid Hotel. Each year this has been proven to be an event worth not missing. The contestants who vie for the position of Mr. Miss, MsTer and Ms. Adult and Youth titleholders “bring it on”, and are sure to “WOW” the audience with talent, titillation, and tenacity.

If you are interested in competing for the honor of becoming a New Mexico Pride Titleholder you can download a packet. April, 7th 2007 is the last
day to turn in your application and all contestants must attend a meeting at the Pride Office on the 7th of April at 2:00 p.m. If you are unable to download a packet you can call the Pride Line at 873-8084.

On Friday, April 20th, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. the contestants will participate in NM Pride’s pageant preliminaries. They will present their Pridewear and also be interviewed by a distinguished panel of judges. This will all take place in the foyer of the Marriot Pyramid. This event is open to the public and is free. The incomparable Fontana DeVine of the famed “Come Out Show” will emcee this event.

Friday, April 20th, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. is “Pride Jubilee”- Titleholder Step-down in the glorious Marriot Pyramid ballroom. This event costs $10.00. There will be a cash bar and hors d'oeuvres. During the show you will be able to see past titleholders who will perform honoring this year’s step-down Titleholders. Please attend and support the 2006-2007 NM Pride titleholders Miss Youth Clarissa Danger, Mr. Adult Adan, Ms. Prince Julian, and Miss. Anastasia as they give their final performances. They have done a great year representing the state of New Mexico and Albuquerque Pride would like
your support that evening to congratulate them all on a job well done.

On Saturday, April 21st, at 7:00 p.m. is the 11th annual NM Pride Pageant. The event cost is $10.00. This event is filled with “glam” and packed with the latest and greatest entertainment. Besides enjoying the competition you will be entertained by your emcees
Fontana DeVine and Jayson Daboi and be dazzled by the glamorous Gia and awed by the beautiful Raquel and Throb. These two performers are past NM Pride titleholders who usually “bring down the house” when they perform. That evening the contestants will compete in on-stage interview, formal wear and talent. The evening will end with the Regal Pride Pageantry that will crown the newly selected NM Pride titleholders for 2007-
2008.

Remember, the place to see and be seen by others is at the Marriot Pyramid on the 20th and 21st of April. Tickets can be purchased by the contestants or stop by the Pride Office during office hours to purchase tickets. Tickets will also be available at the door, but get them early because this show is sure to sell out. There is a special room rate at the Marriot Pyramid (821-3333) so please mention this event in order to get their special
weekend rate. See you there as you become part of “Creating Traditions”!
