2009 Pridefest: Art Show

The 2009 Art Show will be held Friday, June 12th and Saturday, June 13th.

On Friday, June 12th, at 6:00 pm, at the Fine Arts Building, EXPO / NM State Fairgrounds will be the opening of the 2009 Pride Art Show. Awards will be presented at this time. Artists will be there to discuss their work. Many pieces will be for sale so come early and shop. Hours will be from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday and from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday

Entering the Art Show

The Art Show will be judged, with ribbons awarded to adult and youth artists in the following mediums:

Painting-oil and acrylic

Painting-watercolor and tempura

Sculpture

Mixed Media/Batik

Digital Art

Prints (color or black & white)

Drawings (color or black & white)

Pastels

Photography

Jewelry

Digital Imagery

Ribbons will be also be awarded for Best in Show and People's Choice. People's Choice voting will take place Friday evening.

Guidelines

Items must be delivered to the Fine Arts Building at the EXPO NM/State Fairgrounds on Thursday, June 11th between the hours of 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM and Friday, June 12th between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

On Saturday, June 13th, the show will be open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and art can be picked up starting at 4:30 pm. All art must be picked up at the Fine Arts Building on the EXPO NM State Fairgrounds by 6 pm. Should an artist be unable to pick up their entries on Saturday, special arrangements must be made prior to entry. Albuquerque Pride will not be responsible for items left past 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 13th.

Artists retain all rights to the art submitted until payment has been secured for the sale price of the item. Money for the sale of the art will be collected at the time of the sale, items will not be held, no item will be promised sold without payment made. A 10% commission to Albuquerque Pride will be charged against all items sold. Art will remain on site until the show closes at which time the buyer may take possession of the art piece(s). Credit card sales are possible this year for Albuquerque Pride. All payments for art sold will be made to Albuquerque Pride; payment will be made to the artist by Albuquerque Pride no later than June 30th, 2009.

Albuququerque Pride, EXPO /NM State Fairgrounds, or any of their liasons will not be held responsible for loss or damage to art left in their care. Every attempt will be made to protect the interests of the artist. Artists are responsible for insurance and any applicable transportation costs for their artwork associated with this venue. Submission of art for this exhibition will constitute an agreement, as outlined between the artist and Albuquerque Pride.

Two and three-dimensional media will be accepted. There is a limit of (4) entries per artist at $5.00 per entry. All entries must be prepared for display before submission (i.e. wired, hooks, stands, etc.). There are no accommodations for special displays, no installations please. Albuquerque Pride reserves all rights to accept or reject items submitted for this exhibit.
